Why Florentino Perez should not sign £175m Harry Kane - McManaman

"No, I'd prefer a young player like Mbappe. It's very difficult to sign Kane. "The price of footballers today is crazy. It is better to look in your academy. "You need to pay €200m (£175m) for Kane and I don't understand those figures."

Nov.02 - SportLand: Real Madrid would be better off signing Kylian Mbappe than Harry Kane. At least that's the verdict of former Premier League and La Liga ace Steve McManaman. Kane played a minor role after returning from a hamstring injury as Tottenham beat Real 3-1 at Wembley last night. And McManaman says he wouldn't target the England international if he was Bernabeu chief Florentino Perez.

McManaman told Marca: "No, I'd prefer a young player like Mbappe. It's very difficult to sign Kane. "The price of footballers today is crazy. It is better to look in your academy. "You need to pay €200m (£175m) for Kane and I don't understand those figures."

According to Express, Yet McManaman believes Kane would not have any problems if he did head to Spain. He added: "In England, the clubs are very professional and it is a great place to be. Mauricio Pochettino's men return to Premier League action on Sunday when they welcome Crystal Palace to Wembley.

Tottenham star Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Real after establishing a reputation as one of the world's best strikers over the past few years. And Zinedine Zidane recently poured fuel on the transfer rumour fire by suggested the 24-year-old is a complete forward.
